Industrial microATX, also known as µATX, motherboards are the rugged equivalent of compact desktop motherboards.  One of their main benefits is their extended product life time.  The typical industrial motherboard is produced for a period of five to ten years!  Used mainly in compact systems that only require one or two expansion slots, industrial µATX boards are an economic alternative to PICMG based systems, while maintaining many of the same features and benefits.
